The tournament, organized by the Ben Tre province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, brings together 84 athletes from 8 clubs across the Mekong Delta region, including representatives from Tien Giang, Hau Giang, Tra Vinh, Ca Mau, Vinh Long, and Ben Tre provinces. Competitors battle it in 23 disciplines, spanning 18 Kumite and 5 Kata events.

Tra Vinh University’s contingent of 13 talented students, led by Mr. Tran Gia Bao, Chairman of the University’s Karate Club, showcased remarkable prowess during the competition. The event holds significant historical importance, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army’s founding and the 65th anniversary of Ben Tre Dong Khoi Day.

More than just a competition, the tournament is a critical platform for athletes to exchange skills, learn from one another, and refine their professional capabilities. It also plays a strategic role in identifying potential talents for the upcoming 2025 National Karate Club Tournament.

“Our athletes competed with a fair and noble spirit,” Mr. Tran Gia Bao commented, highlighting the safe and regulated nature of the competition. “The results reflect the dedicated training process of our club members.”

The Tra Vinh University Karate Team’s outstanding performance culminated in an impressive medal collection: two gold, two silver, and three bronze medals. This achievement underscores the university’s commitment to athletic excellence and student development.
