Tra Vinh University students get Taiwanese Business Association scholarships

TVU – On the morning of October 24, 2024, Tra Vinh University, in collaboration with the Taiwanese Business Association in Vietnam, awards 29 scholarships to graduate and undergraduate students for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The scholarship ceremony is attended by Mr. To Kien Nguyen, Chairman of the Taiwanese Business Association in Vietnam; Ms. Le Thi Chuyen, Assistant and Member of the Association; and Mr. Tran Phat, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Mutual Aid Association in Tra Vinh Province.

Representing Tra Vinh University are Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, Former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Former Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee, and Chairman of Tra Vinh University Advisory Council; Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Vice Chairman of the Advisory Council and Former Vice President of Tra Vinh University; Dr. Ngo So Phe, Principal of the School of Khmer Southern Language – Culture – Arts and Humanities, along with representatives from various university departments and the 29 scholarship recipients.

During the ceremony, the Taiwanese Business Association in Vietnam presents scholarships to 9 graduate students and 20 undergraduate students from Tra Vinh University who demonstrate academic excellence despite challenging circumstances. The total value of the scholarships amounts to 250 million VND.

In his speech, Mr. To Kien Nguyen, Chairman of the Taiwanese Business Association in Vietnam, expresses the Association’s deep affection for Vietnam and its people, emphasizing their desire to support and encourage students in their academic and research endeavors.

The Association hopes these meaningful gifts will contribute to the university’s educational mission and inspire students to excel in their studies, promoting a learning society in the local community.

On behalf of the university leadership, Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung extends gratitude to the Taiwanese Business Association in Vietnam for their continuous support of the university’s students. He encourages recipients to persist in their educational journey and personal development to achieve their goals. The university looks forward to the Association’s continued partnership in providing meaningful scholarships to students in the future.

Speaking for the 29 scholarship recipients, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Qui, a junior from the Chinese Language Department class 2021, expresses gratitude to the Association, Tra Vinh University leadership, faculty, and peers for their timely support and encouragement. “This valuable moral and material support helps us overcome difficulties in our studies. We promise to work even harder to become useful citizens for our families and society,” Ngoc Qui states.

Previously, the Taiwanese Business Association in Vietnam has provided scholarships totaling 750 million VND to support disadvantaged students at Tra Vinh University who demonstrate determination in their academic pursuits.
