Tra Vinh University (TVU) students and faculty members actively participate in the “Gratitude for Vietnamese Blood” Festival and blood donation drive on May 5th, 2024. This event marks the 17th year of the university’s voluntary blood donation promotion and the year’s first drive.
Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, delivers the opening remarks at the “Gratitude for Vietnamese Blood” Festival combined with the first voluntary blood donation drive of 2024.
Substantial participation numbers:
Hundreds of students and lecturers registered for blood donation, demonstrating their commitment to this life-saving cause.
Mr. Pham Le Phuong Thao, Secretary of the University Youth Union, emphasized TVU’s longstanding tradition of voluntary blood donation and the enthusiastic response from the university community.
Repeat donors: making a difference one donation at a time:
Many students, like Kieu Nguyet Phuong Truc (Accounting, 2020) and Le Huu Phuoc (Chinese Language, 2020), are regular blood donors who find purpose and satisfaction in helping others. Phuoc noted that blood donation benefits his health and allows him to contribute meaningfully to the community.
Spreading awareness and building a culture of giving:
The University Youth Union and Student Association play a crucial role in raising awareness about the importance and benefits of blood donation.
They actively dispel myths and emphasize the positive health effects associated with regular blood donation.
Recognition for outstanding service:
Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of TVU, presented the Voluntary Blood Donation Club with a certificate of merit.
Mr Nguyen Dinh Chieu and Mr Tu Minh Dien acknowledged individuals with exceptional donation records (5 times or more).
The collaborative effort between the University Youth Union, Student Association, and Can Tho Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital resulted in over 250 units of blood being collected. This vital contribution will undoubtedly help save lives.
