Tra Vinh University students share research on sustainable farming systems in Vietnam in the Netherlands

On March 31, 2025, Kim Anh and Hong Xuyen, Environmental Science students from Tra Vinh University, delivered an engaging presentation to over 40 lecturers and students at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. They discussed three sustainable systems: Hydroponics, Aquaponics (a combination of aquaculture and hydroponics), and Artificial Wetlands.

During the session, the two students introduced their research conducted at Tra Vinh University, focusing on the potential to “utilize water resources, optimize agricultural production under climate change conditions, and protect the environment.”

Their innovative solutions garnered significant interest from Dutch lecturers and students, sparking lively discussions about their practical applications. Kim Anh received numerous in-depth questions from Saxion lecturers and students, reflecting their keen interest in implementing these models in both Vietnam and Europe.

The program was part of an international internship initiative for students funded by the Erasmus+ program, aiming to foster research collaboration and academic exchange between European and Vietnamese universities.

The presentation not only enhanced the students’ practical experience but also expanded cooperation opportunities between the two universities in the fields of environmental science and sustainable development.
