Tra Vinh University students spread joy with Mid-Autumn Festival activities for children

TVU – As the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, students from Tra Vinh University are organizing a series of meaningful activities for children from August 12 to September 17, 2024.

“Our goal is to create safe and economical Mid-Autumn Festival events for children,” says Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union and Vice President of the Student Association at Tra Vinh University.

The events draw enthusiastic participation from students, Youth Union, and Student Association members. Activities include fundraising for underprivileged children, distributing moon cakes and lanterns, and hosting music performances across various communes and wards in Tra Vinh.

Highlights of the initiative include:

  • The Student Association of Cau Ke District, in partnership with Vinh Xuong Bakery, sets up a Mid-Autumn cake booth on campus to raise funds for children in difficult circumstances. They also distribute 100 gift packages to disadvantaged children at Chau Dien Secondary School.
  • The Tieu Can District Student Association organizes a “Moonlight – Shades of Love” program at Hieu Trung B Primary School, offering 20 gift packages to disadvantaged students and distributing over 300 lanterns and candies to all students.
  • The Club of Students with 5 Good Merits donates 200 gift packages worth 15 million VND to children at Tuoi Tho Kindergarten in My Chanh Commune.
  • The Communication Club hosts a “Love in Abundance, Mid-Autumn Reunions” program at Tan Binh A Primary School, featuring a music night and donating nearly 3 million VND to students.
  • The Innovation Club distributes gifts valued at nearly 3 million VND to children at the Bai Xan Charity Class in Cang Long District.
  • The Youth Volunteer Club provides 90 gift packages worth 13 million VND to disadvantaged children in various locations, including Ngai Xuyen A Primary School and Binh Phu Primary School.

In addition to these Mid-Autumn Festival programs, Tra Vinh University students are raising funds to support those affected by Typhoon No. 3, helping them recover and rebuild their lives.
