Tra Vinh University visits Green summer volunteers in 2024

TVU – On the morning of August 1, a delegation from Tra Vinh University visits Green Summer volunteers working in Long Vinh and Phuoc Hung. Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of the university, leads the delegation.

Accompanying the delegation are Dr. Ngo So Phe, Rector of the School of Khmer Southern Language – Culture – Arts and Humanity (under Tra Vinh University); Pham Le Phuong Thao, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Youth Union and Secretary of Tra Vinh University’s Youth Union; and Nguyen Van Long, Chief of Party Committee Office and Deputy Head of General Administration.

The delegation receives reports on the volunteers’ recent achievements at each location. They have completed a drainage system and a 1.5km solar-powered street lighting project in Long Vinh. In Phuoc Hung, the volunteers have finished an 800m solar-powered street lighting system, built a charity house, and constructed a 1.5km concrete road, significantly improving local living conditions.

 

Dr. Thach Thi Dan commends the volunteers’ proactive spirit and expresses gratitude to the local units for their support. The university presents meaningful gifts encouraging volunteers to continue their excellent work.

 

During this visit, Tra Vinh University allocates 105 million dong to Long Vinh in Duyen Hai district and 130 million dong to Phuoc Hung in Tra Cu district. These funds are from university staff, internal and external units, and generous donors.

 

Sharing her experience, Nguyen Thi Mai, a third-year student from the Faculty of Education, says: “Participating in the Green Summer campaign is an opportunity for me to improve myself and contribute to building our homeland. I’m happy to share the difficulties with local people and work together on practical projects.”
