Tra Vinh University welcomed high school students of School Year Abroad Program (the United States)

     On December 8, 2011, high school students of School Year Abroad visited and worked with TVU. Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung- Vice Rector of TVU and other related Departments welcomed the delegation.

     School Year Abroad is the program which allows high school students to live with a European or Asian family such as Spain, Italy, China, Vietnam for an academic year. This program was established in 1964 and participated by many private schools in the U.S. After learning some information about TVU, Prof. Vu Quoc Vuong- Director of School Year Abroad in Vietnam  decided to lead the group of students participating in school year 2011-2012 to pay a visit to TVU.

     At the meeting, the delegation was introduced about Tra Vinh Province, TVU and the culture of Southern Khmer. The issues attracted the students from the U.S and  some questions were asked to make clear about TVU and the culture of Khmer people in Tra vinh.

     On behalf of TVU, Vice Rector Nguyen Tien Dung expressed his pleasure to hear the American students to be able to communicate in Vietnamese after spending some months of living and learning in Hanoi. He hoped that after this visit the two Institutions would have more cooperation activities in the near future.
