(TVU) – On the evening of April 10th, the welcome to Khmer traditional festival Chol Chnam Thmay 2019 took place on Tra Vinh University (TVU) dormitory. TVU Vice Rector Thach Thi Dan attended this big event.
This event attracted thousands of students with many originally and impressively musical, singing and dancing performances by TVU students, Cambodian students and artists within and outside the province beside other sports activities.
The Vice Rector said: “This important event takes place annually with various welcoming activities attracting the great participation of students. This is not only a healthy playground for students in the engagement with international students, but also helps preserve and promote values of culture and arts of Khmer people.”
Thach Khe Ma Ra, student in Khmer literature education-course 2015 expressed: “I am very happy to join many activities on the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay this year, especially together with Cambodian students, which will be my unforgettable memory at Tra Vinh University.”
Tra Vinh University undertakes its national focal mission of the training of human resources to Southern Khmer people in order to meet the national goal of the development of the areas of ethnic groups, and is the research centre for Southern Khmer language, culture and arts in the region and in the whole nation.
