Tra Vinh University welcomes Con Dao district officials for collaboration talks

(TVU) – On August 17, 2024, Tra Vinh University hosts a delegation from the People’s Committee of Con Dao District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province. The meeting focuses on discussions about human resource training, scientific research, and collaboration in communication activities to promote Con Dao District’s image.

The Con Dao District delegation is led by Ms. Nguyen Thuy Nga, Vice Chairwoman of the Con Dao District People’s Committee. Accompanying her are key district officials, including Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Lam, Head of the Education and Training Department; Ms. Vo Thi Van, Director of Con Dao National Tourist Area Management Board; Mr. Nguyen Van Nga from Con Dao National Park; Ms. Do Thi Nhat Chinh, Deputy Head of Finance and Planning Department; Mr. Doan Thai, Head of Economic Department; and Mr. Tran Cong Dinh, Deputy Head of Natural Resources and Environment Department.

Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, and representatives from various university departments welcome the delegation.

During the meeting, Dr. Thach Thi Dan provides an overview of Tra Vinh University and commends the recent collaborative efforts between the university and Con Dao District. The Vice Rector expresses her desire to promptly implement cooperative activities with Con Dao District in areas such as training, professional development, communication, image promotion, branding, and scientific research, which both parties have discussed and agreed upon recently.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Nga, Vice Chairwoman of Con Dao District People’s Committee, states that this meeting presents an opportunity for both sides to increase exchange and mutual learning. She expresses hope for a strong and effective relationship between the two entities.

The discussions center around future cooperation in several key areas:

(1) Collaboration on short-term and long-term training and professional development for Con Dao District officials, civil servants, and residents.
(2) Support for internship programs and research opportunities for students and staff members of both institutions.
(3) Cooperation in communication, image promotion, branding, and scientific research. This includes Tra Vinh University’s support in designing labels for Con Dao’s distinctive products, joint efforts in promoting tourism and the image of both entities, conducting highly applicable scientific research projects tailored to Con Dao’s conditions and practical needs, and assisting Con Dao in applying new technologies to production, management, and socio-economic development.
(4) Con Dao District supports the university in accessing raw materials for research projects, tourism, and product introductions.

Following the meeting, the delegation tours the School of Agriculture and Aquaculture, the Institute of Biotechnology, and the wax palm garden at Tra Vinh University.
