TVU – College of Khmer Southern Language – Culture – Arts and Humanities (CLASKA) at Tra Vinh University is hosting Associate Professor Shoun Anthony Hill, Head of the Department of Photojournalism at the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and his delegation on January 3, 2025.
During this significant visit, both institutions engage in meaningful exchanges about local culture and climate-adaptive livelihood models in the Mekong Delta region. The delegation conducts field visits to TVU’s livelihood project sites, including the Con Chim Eco-tourism Area and the Truong Long Hoa Experimental Station. They also interview TVU faculty members and students about cultural practices, daily life, aquaculture, and agricultural solutions for climate change adaptation. The visit features cultural exchange activities between the delegation, TVU’s faculty, and students.
Representing the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Associate Professor Hill presents the Global EyeWitness program, a comprehensive three-part experiential learning initiative. This program aims to help students develop deep insights into culture, history, and contemporary issues, enabling them to convey stories with empathy and integrity.
This collaboration is important in strengthening international academic partnerships and advancing cross-cultural understanding between the two institutions.
