(TVU) – The second Voluntary Blood Donation Day of 2024, jointly organized by Tra Vinh University’s Youth Union and Student Association in collaboration with Can Tho Hematology Blood Transfusion Hospital, successfully collects over 160 blood units.

Early morning of December 29 witnesses a continuous flow of students and faculty members at the donation site, with the Communication Club’s volunteer team reporting strong initial registration numbers. The growing participation demonstrates the initiative’s increasing significance within the university community.

The Youth Union and Student Association of Tra Vinh University implement annual awareness campaigns highlighting the humanitarian value of blood donations. Their outreach emphasizes donation safety, explaining how the body naturally regenerates donated blood while improving circulation.

“Voluntary blood donation represents one of the most meaningful contributions an individual can make to society,” says Nguyen Van Tho, Deputy Chief of Office at the College of Economics and Law. He notes that the program has evolved into a cornerstone activity exemplifying the university’s commitment to community service.

The event attracts both experienced and first-time donors. Nguyen Truc Phuong, a Primary Education student from the class of 2023, shares: “Blood donation creates meaningful impact. Each time I donate, I feel joy knowing my blood helps those in critical need.”

First-time donor Mach Nguyen To Anh from the Business Administration A Class of 2024 reflects: “Donating blood at the university has increased my health awareness and pride in contributing to community initiatives.”

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union and Vice Chairman of the Student Association, emphasizes how the annual event demonstrates student social responsibility while bringing hope to patients needing blood transfusions.

The Voluntary Blood Donation Club marks over 13 years of promoting this humanitarian cause, fostering active participation and community responsibility among university members.

Over the years, the University’s voluntary blood donation movement has developed into a flagship initiative within the Youth Union and Student Association’s activities. The program highlights Tra Vinh University students’ proactive spirit and humanitarian values while demonstrating their commitment to community health.

The drive concludes with collecting more than 160 blood units, reinforcing emergency care reserves and patient treatment supplies.
