TVU Brings “Gifts of Love” to Phong Thanh Commune

TVU – As part of the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, Tra Vinh University, in collaboration with sponsors and the People’s Committee of Phong Thanh Commune, on August 2, organized the program “Gifts of Love”, offering support to underprivileged elderly residents and academically driven students on their journey to school.

In attendance were Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Linh, Deputy Head of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee’s Organization Department; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nhien, Deputy Secretary of the Phong Thanh Commune Party Committee and Chairwoman of the People’s Committee; and Mr. Pham Tuan Kiet, Member of the Phong Thanh Commune Standing Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee.

Representatives from Tra Vinh University included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice Rector and Chief Commander of the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign; and Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, Secretary of the Youth Union, President of the Student Association, and Deputy Commander of the Campaign.

The program was especially honored by the presence of kind-hearted sponsors, including Ms. Tran Quynh Nhu, Mr. Dang Quang Vinh, and other philanthropists from Duy Linh Commune, Lam Dong Province—individuals who, though living far away, remain deeply connected to and caring for their roots.

In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung expressed deep gratitude to the sponsors for their generosity and companionship in helping bring joy, motivation, and hope to people. He emphasized the importance of nurturing the spirit of compassion and solidarity and called for continued efforts to mobilize more resources to expand meaningful charitable activities in the future.

Representing the sponsors, Ms. Tran Quynh Nhu shared, “As someone born and raised here, it warms my heart to personally deliver these gifts to the elderly and students. I hope this act of sharing can spark strength and perseverance in the face of hardship.”

18 gift packages — including rice, daily necessities, and warm blankets—were given to disadvantaged elderly individuals at the event. Additionally, 24 bicycles, helmets, and blankets were gifted to diligent students in Phong Thanh Commune. The total value of the gifts was approximately VND 50 million, helping spread a message of love and community encouragement.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Linh praised the sense of responsibility shown by both organizations and individuals. She encouraged the students to view these gifts as a source of motivation, urging them to study hard, cultivate good character, and grow into responsible citizens who will contribute positively to their local communities.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nhien, Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Phong Thanh Commune, reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to strengthening solidarity, focusing on public health, and fostering youth education—paving the way for a stronger and more prosperous homeland.

The “Gifts of Love” program not only delivered essential support but also served as a powerful source of spiritual encouragement, reinforcing trust and unity within the community.
