TVU: donate over 250 units of blood

TVU – TVU Youth Union and Student Association partners with Can Tho Hematology – Blood Transfusion Hospital to successfully organize on the morning of January 10 a voluntary blood donation program, marking the first blood donation drive of 2026.

Voluntary blood donation is an annual activity with profound humanitarian significance, attracting a large number of TVU staff, lecturers, and students. The atmosphere at Hall A1, the administrative building, is bustling from early morning. Over 300 Youth Union members, Student Association members, and students queue up to register, demonstrating the pioneering, volunteer, and responsible spirit of the TVU youth towards the community.

The program proceeds with a strict and safe procedure. The organizing committee meticulously implements the preparations, from publicity and mobilization to the reception stage. The medical team from Can Tho Hematology – Blood Transfusion Hospital advises volunteers, conducts health screenings, measures blood pressure, and checks necessary indicators, ensuring they meet all health requirements before they begin donating blood.

“This is my second time donating blood. Although I feel less nervous and anxious than the first time, I am still very happy to do something beneficial,” shares Nguyen Truong Hung, a student from the 2024 class of Information Technology. “With the message ‘One drop of blood given – One life remains,’ I hope my small action contributes to spreading the spirit of mutual support and compassion,” he adds.

By the end of the program, the organizing committee collects over 250 units of blood. This replenishes the blood bank, providing timely support for emergency services and patient treatment at medical facilities in the Mekong Delta region.
