TVU retains leadership of Mekong Delta Student Startup Support Network

On the afternoon of November 22, the Mekong Delta Student Startup Support Network holds its 2nd congress for the 2024–2027 term at Kien Giang University to review and evaluate the achievements of the 2022–2024 term while also discussing the objectives and plans for the upcoming term; it also serves as an opportunity to enhance organizational structure and recognize individuals for their significant contributions to the network.

The congress features Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Rector of Tra Vinh University and Chairman of the network; Vice Chairmen of the network, including Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho, Vice Rector of Kien Giang University, Dr. Tien Hai Ly, Vice Rector of Bac Lieu University, and MSc. Tran Van Luc, Vice Rector of Dong Thap Community College; Mr. Pham Minh Quoc, Director of the Korea-Vietnam Incubator Park, and other network members.

Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho, Vice Rector of Kien Giang University and Vice Chairman of the Network, presents the support program for the 2024 – 2027 term under the slogan “Connect – Share – Support – Deliver Value – Succeed” translated into 12 key objectives.

    

Moreover, attendees at the congress propose strategies to boost the number of members participating in startup activities during the term. Additional proposals include organizing investment promotion conferences, arranging field trips to startup enterprises, and initiating programs to inspire high school students with entrepreneurial spirit.

The congress proceeds to select the Board of Directors and the Chief Coordinator of the Mekong Delta Student Startup Support Network for the 2024 – 2027 term. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Rector of Tra Vinh University, is elected President of the Board of Directors. Vice Presidents of the coming term include Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho (Kien Giang University), Dr. Tien Hai Ly (Bac Lieu University), and MSc. Tran Van Luc (Dong Thap Community College), and Mr. Pham Minh Quoc (Korea-Vietnam Incubator Park). Mr. Nguyen Van Vu An, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Tra Vinh University, is appointed Chief Coordinator, responsible for managing and executing network activities.

Additionally, the Board decides to honor five individuals of the Coordinating Board for their significant contributions during the 2022 – 2024 term: Chief Coordinator Mr. Nguyen Van Vu An, Director of Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Business Incubator; Mr. Nguyen Hoan Em, Secretary of the Youth Union at Bac Lieu University; Ms. Nong Thi My Duyen, Deputy Chair of the Startup Club and Head of Business Administration Department at Bac Lieu University; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Quy Tuong, Deputy Head of the Student Affairs and Startup Department; and Mr. Le Nhat Quang, Director of the KGC Startup Support Center at Kien Giang College.

In his closing remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa reflects on the accomplishments of the past 2022 – 2024 term, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of educators from all member institutions. The 12 identified key objectives serve as a guiding framework for practical, unified, innovative support activities. Expressing his hope for the upcoming term, he emphasizes the importance of solidarity, commitment, and determination among member institutions, which would create a strong foundation for the success of the Student Startup Support Network and foster a vibrant and sustainable startup ecosystem in the Mekong Delta region.
