Two outstanding students from Tra Vinh University’s Resource and Environmental Management program are currently participating in the prestigious Erasmus+ exchange program at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.

Running from February to July 2025, the program—funded by the European Union—promotes international learning, research collaboration, and cross-cultural exchange. This unique opportunity allows the students to engage in a dynamic, multicultural academic environment focused on solving global challenges in sustainable development. At Saxion, they not only acquire new knowledge but also contribute directly to international, practice-based research projects.

Nguyen Thi Kim Anh, for instance, is a key member of the “BluElephant” team, which develops a compact, portable, and eco-friendly system for treating wastewater and surface water. This innovation has the potential to benefit water-polluted areas, particularly in rural and coastal regions.

Meanwhile, Huynh Thi Hong Xuyen contributes to the “Plant” team, where she is involved in the research and design of a smart hydroponic system utilizing IoT technology. The project aims to optimize water and energy use, offering a forward-thinking model for sustainable urban agriculture in the face of rapid climate change and urbanization.

Beyond academics, both students actively collaborate with peers from around the world—enhancing critical skills such as problem-solving, intercultural communication, and language proficiency. They also immerse themselves in Dutch culture and explore its historic and cultural landmarks.

Reflecting on the experience, one of the two TVU students shares: “Representing Tra Vinh University in the Erasmus+ program in the Netherlands is an incredible honor. It expands my academic horizons, contributes to my personal growth, and helps me approach global issues from diverse perspectives. This serves as a strong foundation for my future academic and professional path.”

Tra Vinh University remains committed to fostering innovation, global integration, and creative learning. The students’ achievements in the “BluElephant” and “Plant” projects highlight the strong international engagement and capabilities of TVU’s next generation—young leaders poised to contribute meaningfully in an increasingly globalized world.
