Tra Vinh University (TVU) students are making a significant impact through their summer volunteer campaign, culminating in a vibrant program titled “Journey of Soldier’s Song.” The event, held on August 6 in Long Vinh commune, Duyen Hai district, is a collaborative effort between TVU’s Youth Union, Tra Vinh Province’s Youth Activity Center, and the Command of the “Green March” volunteer campaign of the Provincial Border Guard.

The program attracts notable figures, including Colonel Mai Van Yen, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice Rector of TVU.
Students showcase their talents through energetic singing and dancing performances, expressing love for their homeland and aspirations for peace and a bright future.

The event features the distribution of 10 bicycles and 20 gifts to underprivileged students in Long Vinh commune.
National football player Huynh Nhu, ambassador of TVU’s 2024 Summer Volunteer Campaign, donates her prestigious No. 9 jersey from her time with Lank FC (Portugal) to Long Vinh commune.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung emphasizes the significance of these volunteer efforts, stating that TVU students have overcome challenges to create a meaningful summer, leaving a positive impression on the local community.

TVU contributes significantly to local development, including building a charity house, installing solar-powered street lights, constructing and repairing rural roads, and providing scholarships and gifts to students and policy families.
The total resources mobilized for the campaign exceed 500 million VND, with 150 million VND dedicated to projects in Long Vinh commune.

The “Journey of Soldier’s Song” program entertains and reinforces the connection between TVU students and the local community. It showcases the university’s commitment to social responsibility and provides students with valuable real-world experience.
