TVU – Tra Vinh University transforms into a vibrant hub of musical talent as its Trade Union hosts an extraordinary Karaoke Contest from October 17-20, 2024. The event marks a triple celebration: the 94th Vietnamese Women’s Day, the launch of the 2024-2025 academic year, and the approaching 42nd Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.

The prestigious institution draws over 60 contestants from its diverse community, showcasing TVU’s commitment to fostering cultural engagement among its staff.

Dr. Thach Thi Dan, TVU’s Vice Rector, emphasizes the contest’s significance in strengthening organizational unity and advancing the university’s strategic vision.

“This event exemplifies TVU’s dedication to creating meaningful cultural experiences,” states Dr. Huynh Van Muoi Mot, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, who leads an impressive roster of university officials at the event.

The contest’s distinguished judging panel features MMus. Nguyen Mai Nhu Ai from TVU’s College of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts and Humanity, alongside regional arts experts. Special guest judges include celebrated Vọng Cổ artists Trinh Ngoc Huyen and Bui Trung Dang, adding professional prestige to the final round.

Participants showcase their talents across two categories: traditional and modern music, performing songs that celebrate Vietnamese heritage, national pride, and local culture. The repertoire particularly highlights themes resonating with TVU’s values and connection to Tra Vinh province.

After competitive preliminary rounds, nineteen finalists advance to the October 20 finale. In the traditional category, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy An emerges victorious, while Ms. Nguyen Thuy Thuy claims the top spot in modern music, representing TVU’s diverse talent pool.

The event underscores Tra Vinh University’s role as a cultural cornerstone in the region, successfully blending academic excellence with artistic expression. TVU continues strengthening its community bonds through such initiatives while preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural heritage.
