TVU’s Victory Informatics – Foreign Language Center enhances English teaching with Phonics workshop

(TVU) – Recently, the Victory Informatics – Foreign Language Center organized a specialized training workshop on “Introduction and Practice of Phonics Method in Teaching Young Children”, aimed at improving English teaching quality, particularly for preschool and children’s age groups. The program attracted nearly 40 teachers, guided by Ms. Thai Thi Thuy Trang, an expert currently working in Australia.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Cao Thi Hong Cam, Director of the Victory Informatics – Foreign Language Center, emphasized: “Phonics is a crucial method helping children develop accurate and natural English pronunciation foundations from an early age. This workshop is not only an opportunity for teachers to systematically approach this method but also provides practical application opportunities, contributing to training quality improvement at the Center.”

Throughout the workshop, teachers received theoretical training on basic sound recognition, sound blending rules, and establishing children’s English reading foundations. They directly participated in practical activities and group discussions. Simulated classroom exercises helped teachers develop skills and boost confidence in implementing this teaching method.

Teachers engaged in hands-on practice sessions, learning practical techniques for phonetic instruction.

Sharing his experience after the program, teacher Tran Minh Phuc noted: “The workshop provided practical and valuable knowledge. Phonics helps children acquire English more naturally while supporting teachers in implementing more scientific and effective teaching methods. Especially for children – the golden phase of language skill development – correctly applying Phonics will create a solid foundation for their future learning.”

The workshop underscores TVU’s commitment to continuous professional development and innovative teaching methodologies in language education.
