TVU – In celebration of the 52nd Anniversary of Vietnam-India diplomatic relations (07/01/1972 – 07/01/2024) and India’s 78th Independence Day (15/08/1947 – 15/08/2024), a vibrant cultural exchange program takes place on the evening of August 27 at Lecture Hall D5, Tra Vinh University.
The event is graced by representatives from the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, including Mr. Deepak Yadav, Consular Secretary; Ms. Le Thi Tuong Vy, Assistant to the Consulate General’s Office; Ms. Sunanda Thokchom, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Culture and Arts, Manipur State, India; and Mr. Rajkumar Sanatomba Singh, Head of the Manipur Echoes Art Troupe from Manipur State, India.
Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector, and representatives from various departments, faculty members, and nearly 1,000 students represent Tra Vinh University.

The Manipur Art Troupe delivers an unforgettable night of traditional dances. The vibrant Indian cultural performances, with their colorful costumes and dynamic choreography, are complemented by Khmer folk dances and spirited Vietnamese songs performed by Tra Vinh University students. The audience is treated to a visual feast, responding with enthusiastic applause throughout the show.
Dr. Thach Thi Dan welcomes the Manipur folk dance troupe and emphasizes that this event is an art program and an opportunity to deepen understanding of Indian culture, traditions, and history while strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and India.
Mr. Deepak Yadav, Consular Secretary, extends congratulations on the 52nd anniversary of diplomatic relations and India’s 78th Independence Day. He commends the strong development of bilateral relations, especially following the recent visit of Vietnam’s Prime Minister to India. He expresses hope for continued cultural exchanges to enrich cultural life and enhance cooperation between the two nations.
A 2021 Information Technology student, Nguyen Duc Thinh, shares his excitement: “Tonight was amazing. I’ve never experienced traditional Indian dances before. The costumes and choreography were truly impressive, and interacting with Tra Vinh University students brought many interesting experiences. I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to participate in this event and learn more about Indian culture.”
This cultural exchange program showcases both countries’ rich artistic traditions and serves as a bridge for mutual understanding and friendship between Vietnam and India.
