(TVU) – In the morning of December 5th, the opening ceremony of The First VietPhil Research Forum 2019 “Enabling Career Mobility for Students in Global Integration” was taken place at Tra Vinh University (TVU) main campus.
The forum was co-hosted by Tra Vinh University and Palompon Institute of Technology, and Southern Leyte State University, Philippines with attendances of domestic and foreign scientists and lecturers.
The forum aims to share results and experience of scientific research which contributes to the solutions for increasing career mobility for students after graduation in the period of international integration.
There are a total of 47 reports and the four keynote speeches including “Increasing Employment Opportunities for Students from Rural Universities in the World Labor Market” by Dr. Phillip M. Adams, Visiting Professor, TVU; “A University-wide Integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to Improve Campus Management and Enhance Academic Capability of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU)” by Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes, University President, Southern Leyte State University; “Enabling Career Mobility for students in Global Integration” by Dr. Dennis A. Alonzo, School of Education, University of New South Wales, Australia; and “Partnerships and Job Mobility in Global Integration” by Dr. Virginia Salvino Beltran, Vice President, Palompon Institue of Technology.
At the forum, Dr. Phillip M. Adams said: “In the 4.0 era, graduates must face ever-increasing demands on competitiveness, work readiness, and overall suitability in the global labor market; and graduates’ success depends on the international success of universities and governments.”
“The forum is a great opportunity for scientists and lecturers of TVU and universities to exchange experience and achievement in scientific research. In this globalized world, employment has gone far beyond the national scale and crossed the border; therefore, job mobility should be considered as the primary focus of each individual”, said Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, TVU Vice-Rector.
After the forum, Dr. Dennis A. Alonzo also provided the training “Building teachers’ assessment techniques to enhance learning effectiveness” to TVU lecturers.
