(TVU) – On Sep 6th, 2018, Women’s Empowerment and Voice (WEAV) offered 20 scholarships to Tra Vinh University (TVU) female students in the academic year 2018-2019. This is the fourth consecutive year that TVU students receive the scholarships with 2.5 million VND per each.
At the meeting, TVU Vice Rector Thach Thi Dan gave her deep thanks to the WEAV. She said: “The scholarships are very meaningful because of their spiritual and material values that motivate the students in their studies and life.”
“We have always been with Tra Vinh University during four consecutive years. We will maintain this scholarship program in order to provide more scholarships to TVU female students in the years to come,” said Prof. Dr. Lois. T. Vietri, the founder and executive director of WEAV scholarship program.
On behalf of TVU students, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dieu expressed her gratitude to WEAV for these scholarships which will help them pay for their tuition fees.
Women’s Empowerment and Voice (WEAV) is a U.S. nonprofit corporation that provides education, mentoring, and leadership development programs for girls and young women. Its mission is to foster gender equality in education for girls in the Mekong River Delta, Vietnam.
