On the afternoon of June 21, the delegation of the Japan – Vietnam Friendship Association, led by Mr. Hironori Sakai, Chairman of the Japan – Vietnam Friendship Association in the Kansai region, visited and worked in Tra Vinh province.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Quynh Thien and leaders of the Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association in Tra Vinh province; provincial departments; Economic Zones Authority; Tra Vinh University; Tra Vinh Vocational College.

The meeting aimed to discuss investment cooperation opportunities between the Association and Tra Vinh province. At the same time, towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan in 2023. Speaking at the meeting, the provincial leaders introduced the potential investment environment of the province to the delegation; The delegation of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association also mentioned the need to learn about investment in Tra Vinh province.

In addition, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien said that the province attaches great importance to foreign affairs and international cooperation in the fields of investment, trade, tourism, training, and labor export in the development of the province. Tra Vinh is always ready to welcome Japanese investors to explore investment opportunities in the area. The Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee hopes that with the existing potential and advantages and the cooperation relations between the two countries, Tra Vinh and the Kansai region in Japan will have many opportunities for investment cooperation.

Mr. Hironori Sakai highly appreciated the investment and business environment in Tra Vinh and pledged that the Association would actively call for investment and promote economic cooperation in the region. Mr. Sakai shared that Tra Vinh has a policy for students to borrow loans to study and work in Japan. Additionally, he expressed that the province would create better conditions for the local young people to have the opportunity to study and work in Japan.

On this occasion, the province and the delegation exchanged many cooperation contents, such as: establishing the Japanese language department at Tra Vinh University; promoting trade, tourism, and culture among businesses in Kansai and Tra Vinh regions, in which agriculture and fisheries are the main ones; labor export cooperation, etc. The exchange contents are expected to bring practical effects, enhance mutual understanding, and further consolidate the relationship between Vietnam – Japan.
