Working with Binh Phuoc Cooperative Alliance

TVU – The Binh Phuoc Cooperative Alliance delegation and Tra Vinh Business Incubator met on July 18 for a work session, during which they talked about the Tra Vinh Business Incubator’s experience in managing and operating the student cooperative of the university.

Present on the side of the delegation were Ms. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Chairman of the Binh Phuoc Cooperative Alliance; Mr. Nghiep Quoc Vuong, Director of Bom Bo Agricultural-Forestry Production, Trade, and Service Cooperative; as well as other Cooperative Alliance members.

On the side of Tra Vinh University, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Vu An, Director of the Tra Vinh Business Incubator and Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Tra Vinh University; as well as Mr. Le Phuc Khang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Student Cooperatives of Tra Vinh University.

The chairman of the Tra Vinh Cooperative Alliance, Mr. Thai Phuoc Loc, and the Vice Chairman of the association, Mr. Nguyen Trung Ven, were also there to welcome the delegation.

Mr. Le Phuc Khang spoke at the meeting about the formation of the student cooperative, capital contribution and return, the rights and obligations of cooperative members, as well as the services that have been successfully implemented at the student cooperative of Tra Vinh University, such as the grocery store – Co.op Store, the express delivery service, the mobile accessory store, and the franchise bakery that just opened in late May of 2023. In addition, the Tra Vinh University student cooperative is constantly a leader in participating in community projects or actions to boost agricultural product consumption, connect partners, exhibit products, etc.

The two sides discussed the establishment procedure, the management, and the operation of the student cooperative, as well as problems and difficulties while looking for and selecting appropriate services for university students. Moreover, the University’s student cooperative provided additional information on failed initiatives, the lessons gained from these projects, and suggestions for improving services and growing the business in the future.

Furthermore, Mr. Nguyen Van Vu An discussed the benefits and drawbacks of the Tra Vinh University student cooperative’s inception to its present-day accomplishments. He hoped that the Tra Vinh Cooperative Alliance would adopt further policies to encourage the student cooperative and link divisions to carry out more entrepreneurship-related promotion seminars.

The student cooperative is a distinctive model of Tra Vinh province, according to Ms. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Chairman of the Binh Phuoc Cooperative Alliance. She expressed the hope that in the future, the student cooperative of Tra Vinh University would maintain its connection with the Bom Bo Cooperative so that they could grow together.
