(TVU) – Tra Vinh University organized a workshop to summarize the 3R Youth Project (Reduce – Reuse – Recycle) with the participation of Phuong Thanh Secondary School, Dai Phuc Secondary School (Cang Long District), and Pedagogical Practice School. The event marked a meaningful milestone in raising awareness and promoting environmental protection actions among the young generation.

The 3R Youth Project, sponsored by the Local Initiatives Fund – Embassy of Canada in Vietnam, launched at the end of November 2024 to raise awareness of waste reduction, reuse, and recycling in the community, especially among young people. During the implementation process, the project has organized many practical activities, including equipping waste sorting bins at schools to help students practice sorting waste at the source; Training of Trainers (ToT) for teachers, equipping them with knowledge of teaching 3R; Instructing students on plastic pollution, waste sorting, creative recycling, and sustainable consumption; Organizing the contest “Reducing the harmful effects of plastic pollution,” encouraging innovative solutions to protect the environment.

The project promotes practical actions through workshops, waste collection, recycling campaigns, product creation contests from recycled waste, and communication activities to spread awareness on social networks and through direct exchanges. These activities have attracted the participation of hundreds of young people, creating positive changes in the community.

After implementation, the project achieved its set goals and was highly appreciated by the sponsor. To maintain and develop the values from the project, it is necessary to continue raising awareness of plastic pollution through educational programs, promoting the initiative of the “Plastic Waste Free School” model, expanding the scale to more schools, and encouraging creative solutions in recycling and reducing waste.
