TVU – On August 9th, Tra Vinh University’s Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2024 Command holds a ceremony to hand over three youth projects and summarize Phuoc Hung Commune and Tra Cu District activities. The event marks the end of a meaningful summer embodying the motto “Live with the people, work for their trust, and leave lasting memories.”
Attendees include Ms. Tran Thi Hong Thuy, Deputy Secretary of Phuoc Hung Commune Party Committee, and Mr. Nguyen Gia Hien, Vice Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee and Commander of the local Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. Tra Vinh University is represented by Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, Member of the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, Secretary of the University’s Youth Union, and sponsor representatives.

According to the report, 22 full-time volunteers from Tra Vinh University, alongside local youth and residents, completed and handed over these projects. The total value exceeds 358 million VND, with Tra Vinh University mobilizing over 130 million VND in support.
Mr. Son Ly Quy, Team Leader for Phuoc Hung Commune, states that volunteers have met all of the University’s campaign command targets. They have successfully implemented the principle of “eating, living, and working together with locals,” leaving a lasting positive impression.
Specific achievements:
- Built a community toilet at Phuoc Hung A Primary School
- Tiled 100m2 of the playground at Phuoc Hung B Primary School
- Constructed two houses for disadvantaged youth union members and residents
- Installed a 500m solar-powered street light system
- Built a 1km rural road in Dau Giong B hamlet
- Awarded 10 scholarships to underprivileged children
Mr. Nguyen Gia Hien, Vice Chairman of the Commune People’s Committee, praises the campaign’s results, noting the volunteers’ exemplary behavior and successful completion of objectives. He emphasizes the practical value these projects bring to the local community.
The Phuoc Hung Commune People’s Committee awards certificates of merit to 22 individuals and one team for outstanding achievements in the 2024 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign.

- 46 full-time volunteers in two communes (Phuoc Hung and Long Vinh)
- 135 specialized team members
- Over 3,000 part-time volunteers participate in “Volunteer Saturdays” and “Green Sundays”.
On the same afternoon, 22 outstanding student volunteers with good academic performance and active participation in the campaign are inducted into the Communist Party at a ceremony in Phuoc Hung Commune.
