06 Tra Vinh University students compete in Horizon Expanders Contest

TVU – Six students from Tra Vinh University (TVU) are participating in the Horizon Expanders competition, held on June 27 at FPT University in Ho Chi Minh City. The TVU team, led by Huynh Quoc Khanh and Cao Duong Phuong Lan, includes six dynamic students: Duong Dinh Trong, Ngo Trong Phuc, Huynh Qui Linh, Hoang Bao Khanh, Ho Phuoc Loc, and Lu Thi Ha My.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Duy, head of the organizing committee, emphasizes the importance of the competition in developing students’ critical thinking and reasoning skills. He also highlights the event as an opportunity for students to exchange ideas, learn, and broaden their perspectives.

The Horizon Expanders competition consists of three main rounds: Warm-up, Debate-Presentation, and Defense of Viewpoints, designed to test contestants’ knowledge and skills in political science.

The TVU team wins awards for Best Cheering and Best Team Leader. The event is organized by the Soft Skills Department and Student Affairs Office of FPT University, with participation from over 30 classes studying Political Theory and Vietnamese Cultural Foundations.

The competition attracts students and lecturers from numerous universities including FPT University, Saigon University, Tra Vinh University, International University, University of Natural Sciences, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, and others, with more than 15 universities from the southern region participating.

The diversity of competing teams creates a dynamic academic space where students learn from each other and develop together, promoting intellectual exchange among university students.

Horizon Expanders, an academic Political Science competition for students, is not just a contest but also an intellectual playground where students can freely debate, foster self-learning, express viewpoints, and broaden their perspective on the political world. In addition to creating a space for academic exchange, “Horizon Expanders” introduces a novel learning approach for students in Political Theory courses at universities. The three intense rounds – Warm-up, Debate, and Theatrical Performance – provide many exciting experiences for participants.
