On the morning of November 8, 2025, Tra Vinh University’s football field hosted the opening ceremony of the sports festival celebrating the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Charter Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of Tra Vinh University’s establishment (June 19, 2006 – June 19, 2026).
The sports festival is a practical activity honoring the teaching staff while promoting physical training among staff members, lecturers and students. It contributes to spreading the spirit of solidarity and exchange among units, building a dynamic and healthy learning environment and moving toward comprehensive development at the University.

Attending the ceremony were Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University; Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, University Youth Union Secretary and President of University Student Association; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Deputy Secretary of University Youth Union and Vice President of University Student Association; Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh, lecturer at the Physical Education Faculty and Head of the Sports Festival Referee Team; along with representatives from units, grassroots unions, student clubs and more than 400 athletes from many colleges, institutes and student chapters throughout the University.
This year’s sports festival brings together 12 participating delegations, including 4 College delegations, 2 Faculty delegations and 6 Student Chapter and Club delegations. The College delegations include the College of Economics and Law; College of Khmer Southern Language-Culture-Arts and Humanities; College of Medicine and Pharmacy; and College of Engineering and Technology. The School delegations include Agriculture and Aquaculture; and Physical Education, Political Theory & Basic Sciences. The Student Chapter and Club delegations include Tra Vinh Student Chapter, Environmental Club, Tra Cu Student Chapter, Five-Good Student Club, Inter-Provincial Student Chapter, Scientific Research Club, Cang Long Student Chapter, Life Skills Club, Tieu Can Student Chapter, Innovation Club, Karate Club, Duyen Hai Student Chapter and Online Business Club.

Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, affirmed that the sports festival is an activity with practical significance, contributing to improving the University’s comprehensive education quality and encouraging staff members, lecturers and students to exercise, develop physically, and thereby serve better in their studies and future work.

Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, University Youth Union Secretary and President of University Student Association, emphasized that the sports festival celebrates Vietnamese Teachers’ Day and the University’s 20th anniversary and also serves as an opportunity to strengthen solidarity, exchange and learning among units while encouraging staff members, lecturers and students to exercise and move toward comprehensive development.


Representing the participating athletes, athlete Thai Binh Ninh (from the Physical Education, Political Theory & Basic Sciences Faculty delegation) took an oath to compete honestly, unite, comply with the Organizing Committee’s regulations, and demonstrate a noble sports spirit and fair play. Following that, Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh, Head of the Referee Team, took an oath on behalf of the referee team to perform their duties with fairness, objectivity and high responsibility.
Tra Vinh University’s 2025 sports festival is expected to continue spreading the spirit of physical training, promoting sports and physical education movements throughout the University, and moving toward building a dynamic, healthy and humanistic learning and working environment.
