TVU youth lead voluntary blood donation campaign in 2026

TVU – On April 12, TVU hosts its second voluntary blood donation drive of 2026, held alongside the 9th “Gratitude for Vietnamese Blood” program, highlighting the active role of TVU youth in community service.

The event gathers Mr. Tu Minh Dien, Chairman of the Vinh Long Red Cross Society and Standing Vice Head of the provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Deputy Secretary of the TVU Youth Union and Vice President of the Student Association, together with many lecturers, staff, and students.

In his remarks, Mr. Tu Minh Dien commends the enthusiasm and proactive spirit of TVU students. He notes that the blood donation movement at TVU continues to grow strongly and ranks among the leading initiatives in Vinh Long Province. He adds that the university has organized 15 donation drives, with strong student participation, and highlights the TVU Voluntary Blood Donation Club as a standout model in both scale and outreach.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu states that TVU has maintained this campaign for 19 years, contributing around 10,000 units of blood. He emphasizes the need to sustain and expand the movement in line with the university’s development, focusing on genuine commitment and long-term impact.

The program attracts many first-time donors. Vo Thi Hong Ngoc, a student from class DA24DB, shares that she previously hesitated to donate but decides to join after seeing the positive atmosphere. She notes that although she feels nervous, she is proud to contribute.

During the event, the organizers present certificates of merit to the TVU Voluntary Blood Donation Club and 13 individuals for outstanding contributions in the 2024–2025 academic year. The program also recognizes the outgoing executive board for the 2024–2025 term and contributions from Pham Thi Viet Trinh and her team. At the same time, the organizers introduce the 16th executive board for the 2025–2026 term with 13 members, appointing Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang as president.

The program closes with a call for continued community engagement, reinforcing the message that each blood donation helps save lives and supports those in need.
