Scholarships for nursing students in academic year 2025–2026

On January 5, 2026, Tra Vinh University (TVU) held a scholarship award ceremony sponsored by Prof. Lynda Boyer–Chu, a Fulbright Specialist, for Nursing students from disadvantaged backgrounds; the scholarships aim to encourage students’ academic pursuits and contribute to the development of high-quality healthcare human resources.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Lynda Boyer–Chu from the University of California, San Francisco, and a member of the Medical Education Exchange Teams (MEET).

Representing TVU were Mr. Pham Quoc Khanh, M.A., Deputy Head of the Department of Student Affairs; Dr. Tao Gia Phu, Vice Principal of the College of Medicine and Pharmacy (CMP); faculty members of the School of Nursing; and final-year Nursing students who received the scholarships.

In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Tao Gia Phu emphasized the significance of international scholarship programs for the TVU students, particularly those in the health sciences. TVU highly appreciates the partnership and support of international experts and scholars in education, research, and the development of healthcare human resources for Vietnam in general and the Mekong Delta region in particular.

On this occasion, Prof. Lynda Boyer–Chu awarded four scholarships to Nursing students, each valued at USD 500. In addition to providing financial support, the scholarships serve as a source of encouragement, enabling students to focus on professional training, clinical skills development, and the cultivation of medical ethics.

Prof. Lynda Boyer–Chu expressed her confidence in the potential and dedication of TVU’s Nursing students. She affirmed that investment in nursing education and training is a crucial foundation for improving the quality of community healthcare and encouraged students to continue striving for excellence, embrace lifelong learning, and make meaningful contributions to society.
