Tra Vinh University continues to be in the Top 200 universities for sustainable development in 2021

UI GreenMetric World University Rankings has just announced the ranking of sustainable universities in the world in 2021. Tra Vinh University (TVU) continues to enter the Top 200 universities for sustainable development and a friendly environment.

Specifically, Tra Vinh University ranked 181/959 ( with a total score of 7325). This year, 959 universities worldwide participated in this prestigious international ranking, which increased to 47 universities compared with the number in the year 2020.

UI GreenMetric is the only organization in the world that ranks universities according to the criteria of building and developing sustainable universities; environmentally and naturally friendly. This system ranks universities based on six criteria, including landscape and modernity, environmental friendliness, facilities; clean energy policy and response to climate change, waste management; policies on using and reusing water sources; smart transportation system; and educational capacity.

Over the years, TVU has drastically improved its quality of training, promoted cooperation, connected with businesses, promoted entrepreneurship and innovation, enhanced its responsibility to serve the community, especially developing the international integration in training. The university was ranked 71st in the Top 100 universities with positive influence and contributions to society according to the WURI Ranking 2021.

Along with that, TVU currently has 11 training programs that have achieved international education accreditation AUN – QA and FIBAA. It is one of the top universities in the Mekong Delta, with many programs that have achieved international education quality accreditation. Of which, 05 training programs meeting the international quality standards of AUN-QA were Agriculture, Fisheries, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, Khmer language; and 06 programs meeting international quality standards of FIBAA included Business Administration, Economy, Accounting and Finance, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Economic Management.

The university has been completed the AUN accreditation for international education quality for IT Engineering. In the coming time, TVU will continue to expand the AUN accreditation for health sciences, ABET for engineering and technology, FIBAA for other training programs.

Experts said that any universities which had a training program accredited to meet quality standards by international organizations, such as AUN – QA, FIBAA, or ABET, will have international recognition for the training quality of the assessed programs, with high-quality assurance conditions in terms of facilities, qualified instructors, advanced training programs, and active teaching methods, helping learners to develop their own capacity and meet the recruitment requirements of enterprises.

Thereby, students majoring in those accredited by ABET at Tra Vinh University will benefit from finding jobs, integrating with the international labor market, and improving their abilities.
