Training Objectives
The undergraduate accounting program has a career-oriented design. It trains a high-quality accounting workforce with a firm grasp of both foundational and modern knowledge in accounting, auditing, and finance for domestic and international businesses. The program prepares graduates to organize and implement accounting and auditing activities and to develop their careers in the context of global economic integration. Students develop strong IT skills to handle professional tasks, a creative spirit, and a sense of responsibility to themselves and the community. They also gain the knowledge and ambition to pursue higher education at the master’s level. The program aims to equip students with a solid understanding of social sciences, political science, law, information technology, and foreign languages. Graduates can apply their deep knowledge of accounting and auditing to provide information and support decision-making in a changing work environment. They also develop the practical skills to plan and manage accounting functions in a competitive global market, along with the critical thinking and professional ethics required for a successful career.
Program Duration
Students earn a Bachelor of Accounting in 3.5 years. The program consists of 7 semesters and requires 120 credits.
Applicants
We welcome applicants from within Vietnam and from other countries. The admission process follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.

Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the General Accounting program will have the following specific knowledge, skills, and attitudes:
Knowledge
Graduates can reason about political, national security, and methodological issues. They can use foreign language skills at level 3/6 of the Vietnamese framework (B1 level) and apply IT in their studies and professional work. They apply foundational and contemporary knowledge to assess economic phenomena with a modern mindset that aligns with the country’s development and international integration. They can also systematize the legal environment and theoretical foundations of accounting, tax, and auditing.
Skills
Graduates can prepare, circulate, synthesize, and archive accounting documents. They can perform general and detailed bookkeeping and handle accounting errors. They can also prepare financial, management, and tax reports for an organization. Graduates can propose solutions to help managers make decisions and can effectively apply soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and presentation in their practical work.

Career Opportunities
Graduates can work in various positions. They can be specialists in the finance and accounting departments of manufacturing, commercial, and service businesses, financial organizations, and administrative units. They can work for consulting firms and accounting and auditing service companies. Graduates can also become internal auditors or controllers in manufacturing companies, financial institutions, and foreign-invested enterprises. They are prepared to take on senior roles such as accounting department manager, chief accountant, financial director, or audit manager. Additionally, they can start their own companies providing financial, tax, accounting, and auditing services.
Postgraduate Opportunities
After graduating, accounting students are qualified to advance their education. They can participate in short-term accounting courses in Vietnam and abroad. They can also pursue a second bachelor’s degree in a related major. Furthermore, graduates are eligible to enroll in Master’s and PhD programs in accounting at universities nationally and internationally. The program also provides a strong foundation for students to pursue professional certifications from Vietnam and international bodies like the CFA, ACCA, CIMA, and CPA.
