Agriculture – Accredited by AUN-QA

The Agriculture program at Tra Vinh University, which focuses on Crop Science, is now accredited by the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA).

Training Objectives

The Crop Science program uses a practical, application-focused approach to meet the needs of employers and the community. The program trains students to plan for agricultural management and production. They learn to provide consulting, transfer technology, and research crop-related issues. This work supports the growth of the agriculture industry and contributes to Vietnam’s sustainable economy. It also helps connect Vietnam’s agriculture sector with the global market. Students learn to solve basic problems in production, business, and agricultural exports in a professional, creative, and ethical way. The program also encourages students to be active learners, expand their knowledge, and develop their skills for personal and professional growth.

Program Duration

Students earn a Bachelor of Agriculture degree in 4 years. The program consists of 8 semesters and requires 150 credits to complete.

Applicants

We welcome applicants from within Vietnam and from other countries. The admission process follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University. We train students to become effective leaders in the age of Technology 4.0.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the program, students will have gained specific knowledge and skills. In terms of knowledge, students can apply concepts from natural science, social science, engineering, and economics to solve agricultural problems. They can develop crop varieties that adapt to climate change to improve production. Students can also design farming models for clean and safe crop production and evaluate the right natural, technical, and economic conditions for farming. They learn to effectively manage crop pests, soil, water, and nutrients using modern science and technology.

Regarding skills, graduates can provide technical and business advice in the crop sector to help companies and communities. They use analytical and critical thinking to solve professional challenges in a modern society. Students learn to work independently, lead teams, and manage agricultural projects to achieve their goals. They can also communicate effectively using different media and in diverse cultural settings, and they can read and understand specialized English documents in the field of agriculture.

We offer scholarships based on the general policies of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.

Career Opportunities

After graduating from the Agriculture program, students have many job opportunities. They can work as managers or technical staff in crop science at companies, farms, agricultural extension centers, and laboratories. They can also become business consultants for products like fertilizers, seeds, and plant protection chemicals. Additionally, graduates can start their own farms to produce seeds and safe agricultural goods.

Postgraduate Opportunities

Graduates of the Agriculture program are well-prepared to continue their education. They can enroll in short-term courses in Vietnam or abroad to learn about topics like cultivation techniques, plant protection, seed technology, and farm management.
