
The Aquaculture program at Tra Vinh University, which focuses on aquaculture engineering, is now accredited by the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). This program uses a practical, application-focused approach to meet the needs of employers and the community.
Training Objectives
The program trains students to become skilled professionals who can manage technical processes in aquaculture, including farming, seed production, and aquatic animal health management. They learn to provide technical consulting and transfer applied research to support the sustainable growth of the aquaculture industry. The program also teaches students to solve basic problems in production, business, and seafood exports in a professional, creative, and ethical manner. We encourage students to continuously expand their knowledge, discover new information, and develop their skills for personal and professional growth.
Program Duration
Students earn a Bachelor of Aquaculture Engineering in 4 years. The program consists of 8 semesters and requires 151 credits.

We welcome applicants from within Vietnam and from other countries. The admission process follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.

Learning Outcomes
Graduates can apply knowledge from natural sciences and their core field to explain issues in aquaculture. They understand social issues and contemporary laws related to the environment and public health in the seafood industry. Students learn to build safe and effective models for seed production and aquatic animal farming to ensure a clean food source. They can select effective methods for health care, treatment, and management of aquatic species.
Graduates can communicate effectively in various forms (speaking, writing, presenting) and can read and understand specialized English documents in the aquaculture field. They can work independently and lead teams to achieve goals. Students use analytical and critical thinking to solve problems in real-world situations. They can provide technical and business consulting in the aquaculture sector for the benefit of all stakeholders, including producers, businesses, and the community. They also learn to apply information technology and advanced science in aquaculture. Graduates adhere to laws and professional ethics, show a sense of responsibility for protecting the environment and aquatic animals, and have a clear career direction with a passion for entrepreneurship and lifelong learning.
Scholarship and Internship Opportunities
Students can receive scholarships based on the policies of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University. They also have opportunities to receive other scholarships from companies and businesses.
In addition, students have the chance to participate in paid internships at local businesses, earning 3-5 million VND per month. They can also take part in internships in Israel or Japan with monthly salaries of 15-20 million VND. The university also supports students with startup initiatives and self-managed projects.
Career Opportunities
After graduating, students can work as lecturers or researchers at institutes and universities. They can become production directors or operations managers in companies and enterprises. Graduates can also work as aquaculture specialists in government departments. They can be technical experts in companies, farms, and hatcheries, or work in the production and service of aquatic feed and medicine. Furthermore, graduates can start and manage their businesses in the aquaculture sector.
Postgraduate Opportunities
Graduates of the Aquaculture program are qualified to pursue higher education. They can enroll in short-term training courses in aquaculture in Vietnam or abroad. They can also pursue a second bachelor’s degree in a related field. Furthermore, graduates can apply for Master’s and PhD programs in Aquaculture at universities in Vietnam and around the world. They can self-study, conduct research, and apply scientific and technological advancements to production.
