Training Objectives

The Automation program uses an application-oriented approach to meet the needs of employers and the community. The program gives students a foundational knowledge of social sciences, political science, law, information technology, and foreign languages. It teaches them to plan, organize, supervise, and manage professional activities in the automation field. Students learn to apply technical knowledge of automatic control to their work. The program develops their ability to work independently or in teams in changing environments, taking personal and group responsibility. Graduates can think critically, evaluate work quality, and communicate complex problems and solutions effectively. They also gain essential skills to solve complex problems, manage resources, and improve operational efficiency. The program fosters leadership and entrepreneurship and helps students achieve an English proficiency level of 4/6 according to the Vietnamese language competency framework. 🤖


 

Program Duration

Students earn a Bachelor of Automotive Engineering Technology in 4 years. The program consists of 8 semesters and requires 153 credits.


Applicants

We welcome applicants from within Vietnam and from other countries. The admission process follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

Graduates apply knowledge of social sciences, politics, law, physical education, and national security to contribute to the nation. They use applied mathematics, natural sciences, and knowledge of safety and occupational hygiene in their academic and professional work. They also apply their understanding of electrical-electronic circuits, measurement, and automatic control systems to research and professional development. Furthermore, graduates use their knowledge of system control programming to design, communicate with, and control peripheral devices.

Skills

Graduates proficiently use applied informatics and specialized software for their research and career development. They can design, program, install, and operate automatic control systems. They can also maintain these automated systems and processes. The program develops their ability to plan, organize, implement, and manage work systematically in their professional field. Students learn to use soft skills like teamwork, independent work, reporting, critical analysis, and negotiation to improve their work efficiency. They also use English at level 4/6 of the Vietnamese language competency framework.


Scholarship Opportunities

Students can receive scholarships according to the university’s general policies, including awards for the valedictorian and salutatorian. Annual scholarships are also available for students with good academic standing or those facing difficult circumstances. Notably, female students in this program receive a special scholarship equivalent to 50% of their tuition fees.


Career Opportunities

Graduates can work as consulting, design, installation, and operation engineers for automatic equipment and systems in various fields. These include electrical equipment companies, automated electrical systems, and power plants such as thermal, hydroelectric, wind, and solar facilities. They can become operations engineers who manage factories and industrial zones in sectors like textiles, seafood processing, and automated equipment manufacturing. Graduates can also work as research engineers at companies, institutes, or universities, or teach at universities, colleges, and vocational schools across the country. Additionally, they can join or start businesses in their specialized field.


Postgraduate Opportunities

After graduating, students in the automation program are qualified to advance their education. They can participate in short-term training courses in automation both in Vietnam and abroad. They can also pursue a second bachelor’s degree in a related major. Furthermore, graduates are eligible to enroll in Master’s and PhD programs in automation at universities nationally and internationally.
