Chemical Engineering Technology

The Chemical Engineering Technology program is designed to produce skilled engineers for a variety of industries.

Training Objectives

The Chemical Engineering Technology program trains engineers with in-depth knowledge of chemistry and a solid foundation in chemical engineering. The program emphasizes the development of professional ethics, a sense of responsibility, and a high level of professionalism. It equips students with the necessary skills to solve urgent problems in the chemical field, evaluate the quality and results of their work, and effectively communicate problems and solutions in the workplace. Graduates can transfer and share their knowledge to perform complex tasks and are encouraged to pursue entrepreneurship. The program also aims to develop students’ ability to work independently or in teams, guide and supervise others, and plan, manage, and improve the efficiency of chemical technology processes. 🧪

Program Duration

Students earn a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering Technology in 4 years. The program consists of 8 semesters and requires 158 credits.

Applicants

We welcome applicants from within Vietnam and from other countries. The admission process follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.

Learning Outcomes

Knowledge

Graduates can apply basic knowledge of the natural, engineering, and social sciences to their major. They use their understanding of political science, law, environmental protection, and national security in their contributions to building and protecting the nation. They apply their knowledge of technological processes and modern analytical equipment to manage and operate production in the chemical field. Graduates can analyze experimental problems, analytical and synthesis processes, and the operating principles of chemical engineering equipment. The curriculum provides in-depth knowledge of the properties of nanomaterials, food chemistry, including nutrition and toxins, and materials used in water treatment technology for both pure and wastewater.

Skills

Graduates can process the results of chemical experiments and solve problems that arise during the operation of chemical technology processes. They can evaluate the effectiveness of analytical methods, production techniques, and various materials. They are proficient in using specialized English, word processing software, and chemistry-specific applications. The program develops skills in report writing, presentation, effective communication, and teamwork. Students can operate modern equipment for analyzing nanomaterials and food, as well as water treatment systems. They can also calculate technical parameters for specific nanomaterial production processes, design water treatment systems, and select appropriate nanomaterials and food packaging for various industrial, agricultural, and pharmaceutical applications.

Scholarship Opportunities

Students can receive scholarships according to the university’s general policies, including awards for the valedictorian and salutatorian. Annual scholarships are also available for students with good academic standing or those facing difficult circumstances. Notably, female students in this program receive special support equivalent to 30% of their tuition fees.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the Chemical Engineering Technology program can work in various roles. They can work as chemical engineers in companies that deal with chemicals, taking on positions in operations, production, business, supervision, or consulting. They can become testing specialists at analytical service centers or in factories that produce fertilizers, cement, packaging, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and processed agricultural and aquatic products. Graduates can also pursue careers in research and teaching at universities and colleges. Additionally, they are equipped to start their businesses trading in chemicals, paints, or agricultural pesticides.

Postgraduate Opportunities

After graduating, engineers in Chemical Engineering Technology can pursue a second university degree in a related field. They are also qualified to enroll in postgraduate programs (Master’s or PhD) at universities and institutes in Vietnam and abroad. The program also fosters the skills necessary for lifelong learning.
