
Program objectives
The Cultural Studies program aims to provide students with basic knowledge of social sciences, political science, law, and information technology. It teaches them to plan, organize, supervise, manage, and operate professional activities in the Cultural Studies field. The program also enables students to apply foundational knowledge of theoretical and practical cultural studies to their professional work.
The program also equips students with necessary skills to solve complex problems; to lead, start businesses, and create jobs for themselves and others. They learn to think critically, evaluate work quality and team performance, communicate problems and solutions in the workplace, and share knowledge and skills for specific or complex tasks.
Furthermore, the program trains students to work independently or in teams in changing work environments, taking personal and group responsibility. They gain the ability to guide and supervise others, plan and manage resources, and evaluate and improve activities. They can also self-direct, form professional conclusions, and defend their personal viewpoints.
Program duration
The Bachelor of Cultural Studies is a 3.5-year program, which includes 7 semesters and 120 credits.
Target applicants
The program admits students from both within and outside the country, following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the specific rules of Tra Vinh University.

Learning outcomes
Regarding knowledge, graduates can apply basic knowledge of political science, national defense education, and law to have correct awareness and actions in their life and professional work in the cultural and social fields. They can apply foreign language skills at level 3 of the 6-level Vietnamese Foreign Language Competency Framework and basic IT skills to their cultural work. They can also apply interdisciplinary knowledge from Social Sciences & Humanities to carry out research projects on cultural and social issues. They learn to synthesize knowledge of world and Vietnamese culture to solve problems of preserving and developing Vietnamese culture to meet the country’s socio-economic needs.
In terms of skills, graduates can conduct independent and group research on theoretical and applied cultural studies issues. They can apply research results to cultural work, cultural management, and heritage management. They have the ability to build and manage cultural, artistic, and tourism activities and can implement programs for various events. Graduates can analyze issues in the fields of culture and religion, culture and ethnicity, culture and communication, and culture and tourism. They can also predict development trends of Vietnamese culture in the era of integration and globalization.
Scholarship opportunities
Students can apply for scholarships under the general policies of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University. Additional scholarships include:

Career opportunities after graduation
Graduates can work as cultural studies researchers at institutes, universities, and centers for Social Sciences and Humanities research. They can be specialists at cultural management agencies like Departments of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, or at communication agencies like radio, television, and newspapers. They can work as lecturers in the cultural field at universities, colleges, or governmental and non-governmental organizations. They can also be tour guides or specialists at tourism companies, or staff in the restaurant and hotel sectors. Another option is working as a specialist at event management and communication companies.
Postgraduate opportunities
Graduates of the Bachelor of Cultural Studies program are equipped with the knowledge and skills to research and work independently. They can pursue higher education at the postgraduate level to obtain Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Vietnam or abroad in fields related to Social Sciences & Humanities.
