Program objectives
The English Linguistics program at Tra Vinh University aims to train and supply the labor market with bachelors who have good political qualities, ethics, professional demeanor, and health. Graduates can apply English language knowledge and professional skills in various work environments, especially in fields that use English as a means of communication. The program also enhances their self-study awareness and lifelong learning ability for career development and community contribution.
Program duration
The Bachelor of English Linguistics is a 3.5-year program, which includes 7 semesters and 122 credits.
Target applicants
The program admits students from both within and outside the country, following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the specific rules of Tra Vinh University.

Learning outcomes
Regarding knowledge, graduates can apply knowledge of social sciences and linguistics to their professional work and combine specialized English knowledge with specific tasks. They can integrate linguistic, cultural, and text-type factors in translation and interpretation for fields like economics, finance, commerce, culture, society, tourism, and technology. Graduates learn to arrange their English knowledge for teaching at various levels and can evaluate scientific information for research purposes.
In terms of skills, graduates can work independently, in teams, and lead teams in a multilingual environment. They can communicate cross-culturally to study and work internationally. They learn to apply information technology to their professional work and develop self-study, research, and creative skills. Graduates can perform translation and interpretation suitable for various professional fields. They can teach English at different levels according to program requirements and can also conduct scientific research on linguistics and the English language.

Students can apply for scholarships under the general policies of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University. Additional scholarships include:

Career opportunities after graduation
Graduates of the English Linguistics program can work in many different positions at state agencies or businesses, especially units with foreign elements or that require the use of English. Common career positions include English-Vietnamese translators and interpreters, English teachers (if they have a teaching certificate), and researchers or sociological investigators.
Postgraduate opportunities
After graduating, students in English Linguistics have the full capacity to continue their studies to a higher professional level.
