Faculty of Engineering and Technology held a workshop on Database Administration DB2 for students in school year 2011-2012

In order to help students be able to access new technologies, from November 23 to 25, 2011, Faculty of Engineering and Technology coordinated with IBM (International Business Machines) held a workshop on Database Administration DB2 for more than 90 TVU students of classes majoring in IT course 2008.

Mr. Le Cao Thinh- a representative of IBM company, Software Development team leader directly gave the instructions at the workshop. He stated “DB2 is a database administrator which is not only for large enterprises but also for small and medium enterprises. A special feature of DB2 is its construction based on technology “Viper”, it manages  both related data and XML data; DB2 versions can run on any platforms including OS/2, UNIX and Windows Server, Linux and PDA…”

Mr. Vo Phuoc Hung- Head of IT unit (Faculty of Engineering and Technology of TVU said, “students of classes course 2008 learned a few database administrators such as SQL, Oracle, etc in their major curriculum.” He hoped that this workshop would help students keep up with the development of Science and Technology and access with new technology.

At the workshop, students were also supported some knowledge of soft skills such as job skills, interview skills in companies or large corporations such as IBM, Microsoft, etc.
