TVU – In 2023, Tra Vinh University sees the participation of 10 contestants from schools and institutes in the final round of the “Change for Success” speaking contest. This contest, held on August 5, 2023, at Tra Vinh University, aims to enhance students’ eloquence, logical thinking, and creativity, all while emphasizing the importance of change for achieving success.
The final round comprises two segments: individual speeches and group speeches. For individual speeches, contestants randomly select their topics and present their speeches within a 7-minute timeframe. In the group speech section, participants form two teams and engage in debates on topics with opposing viewpoints.
At the conclusion of the competition, a panel of judges selects and recognizes the top 5 contestants:
First Prize: Nguyen Thi Cam Tien, representing the School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture, Arts, and Humanities.
Second Prize: Le Hoang Tuan, also from the School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture, Arts, and Humanities.
Third Prize: Huynh Thuy Vy, a student of the School of Economics and Law.
Consolation Prize 1: Tran Thi My Tien, hailing from the School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture, Arts, and Humanities.
Consolation Prize 2: Nguyen Hoang Duy, a student enrolled in the School of Medicine and Pharmacy.
These finalists excel in showcasing their eloquence, logical thinking abilities, and creative talents during the contest. Their presentations offer the audience fresh perspectives on the essential role of change in attaining success.
The speaking contest is an annual event that serves as a valuable platform, drawing the participation of numerous students. It provides an ideal environment for students to interact, gain knowledge, apply their skills, and refine them further. This event receives support from the Foundation for Tra Vinh University Students’ Soft Skills and Start-Up Development, an initiative established and overseen by Dr. Truong Tri Vu, a member of Tra Vinh University’s Advisory Council.
