Training Objectives
The Food Technology program provides students with fundamental knowledge in social sciences, political science, law, and information technology. It teaches them to plan, organize, supervise, manage, and run professional activities within the food technology industry. Students also learn to apply their technical knowledge of food technology to practical work.
The program equips students with essential skills to solve complex problems, lead projects, start businesses, and create jobs for themselves and others. It fosters their ability to think critically, evaluate work quality, and communicate ideas and solutions effectively in a professional setting. Students also learn how to share knowledge and skills to perform specific and complex tasks.
Furthermore, the program trains students to work well independently or in teams in changing work environments, taking both personal and group responsibility. Graduates can guide and supervise others, manage resources, and improve the efficiency of operations. They develop the ability to self-direct, form professional conclusions, and defend their viewpoints.
Program Duration
Students earn a Bachelor of Food Technology in 4 years. The program consists of 8 semesters and requires 151 credits.

We welcome applicants from Vietnam and other countries. The admission process follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge
Graduates of the Food Technology program can apply fundamental knowledge of political science, law, national defense and security, and environmental protection to make sound decisions in their lives and careers. They use their core knowledge to explain key areas of food technology, including preservation, processing, chemical and physical analysis, food microbiology, nutrition, and quality and safety management systems. They can also use their broad and specialized knowledge to pursue higher education and apply it to their future jobs.
Skills
Graduates can apply scientific and technological advancements in food technology to solve practical problems in the field. They can perform sensory evaluations and analyze the chemical, biological, and physical properties of food to ensure product quality during storage and processing. Students become proficient in the operational steps of food processing technology, identifying hazards and ensuring food safety. They learn to plan, participate in group discussions, present to an audience, use English for communication and to access specialized documents, and apply basic IT skills. They can work effectively both independently and in teams. The program also develops their ability to evaluate information, think critically, and apply creativity to their work and scientific research in food preservation and processing.
Scholarship Opportunities
Students have access to scholarships according to the general policies of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University. In addition, students can receive various other scholarships, including academic encouragement scholarships and financial support from partner companies and businesses.
Career Opportunities
After graduation, students have a wide range of career options. They can work as research and development (R&D) specialists, product quality analysis technicians, production line engineers, quality inspectors, or raw material quality control staff. Graduates may also become nutrition consultants, food safety auditors, production supervisors, or production directors. The program also encourages entrepreneurship, enabling graduates to start their own businesses. Other career paths include marketing, as well as lecturing and research positions at universities and colleges.
Postgraduate Opportunities
Graduates can work as researchers at food technology training and research institutions in Vietnam and abroad. They are also qualified to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees specializing in Food Science and Technology.
