Law – accredited by FIBAA

The Law program is accredited by the international quality assurance standard FIBAA. The program offers three specializations: Commercial Law, Civil Law, and Criminal Law.

Training Objectives

The Law program has a research-oriented design to meet the needs of employers and the community. The program provides students with a foundational knowledge of social sciences, politics, information technology, foreign languages, and especially law for their professional activities. Graduates can apply legal knowledge to their work, operate effectively both independently and in teams in changing environments, and take personal and group responsibility. The program also develops critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students are trained to have a strong political ideology, to strictly adhere to the policies and laws of the Party and the State, and to place community and social interests above personal gain, contributing to a just, democratic, and civilized society. ⚖️

 

Program Duration

Students earn a Bachelor of Laws in 3.5 years. The program consists of 7 semesters and requires 124 credits.

Applicants

We welcome applicants from within Vietnam and from other countries. The admission process follows the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.

Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the Law program will have the following specific knowledge and skills:

Knowledge

Graduates can apply fundamental knowledge of political science, theories of state and law, and national defense to act correctly in their lives, studies, and careers. They can use foreign language skills at level 3/6 of the Vietnamese framework (B1 level) and applied IT in their professional activities. They apply their knowledge of substantive law to resolve legal issues and their knowledge of procedural law to handle professional tasks. Graduates also use their understanding of foreign legal systems and international law to address international matters and apply practical internship experience to adapt to the workplace.

Skills

Graduates can evaluate existing laws and their practical implementation. They can resolve real-life cases and legal matters. They are skilled in providing legal consultation and can draft various documents and contracts in compliance with national and international law. The program also develops their ability to conduct legal science research, think critically, communicate effectively, and work well both independently and in teams.

Scholarship Opportunities

Students can receive scholarships according to the general policies of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University. These include awards for the valedictorian and salutatorian. Annual scholarships are also available for students with good academic standing or those facing difficult circumstances. The University also has many programs to support students with tuition waivers and dormitory placements.

Career Opportunities

Graduates can work in various organizations. They can find employment in government agencies, research and training institutions specializing in law, law firms, legal aid centers, commercial arbitration centers, and notary offices. They can also work for domestic and foreign businesses.

Postgraduate Opportunities

Graduates can participate in short-term training courses in law both in Vietnam and abroad. They can also pursue a second bachelor’s degree in a related major. Furthermore, they are eligible to enroll in Master’s and PhD programs in Law at universities nationally and internationally.
