Program objectives
The Nursing program follows a career-oriented design to meet the needs of employers and relevant parties. The program aims to train students to become professionals who can apply evidence-based practices to care for and improve the health of individuals, families, and communities, becoming a quality human resource for Vietnam’s health sector. Graduates learn to manage and develop their careers ethically and creatively to suit their work environment. The curriculum also enhances the capacity for self-study and lifelong research for personal and professional growth and develops international capabilities to connect the Vietnamese nursing industry with the world.
Admission subject combinations
The program accepts applicants from two subject combinations. Combination B00 includes Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology. Combination B08 includes Mathematics, Biology, and English.
Program duration
The Bachelor of Nursing is a four-year program, which includes 8 semesters and 141 credits.
Target applicants
The university admits students by the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the specific rules of Tra Vinh University.

Learning outcomes
Regarding knowledge, graduates can apply knowledge of natural and social sciences to healthcare. They can analyze health problems and make care decisions that meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities. They can also evaluate the quality of care services and health management for patients and the public, and can design comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare models.
In terms of skills, graduates can use analytical and critical thinking to solve profession-related problems within a social context. They can work independently and lead nursing teams to achieve set goals. They learn to use multimedia for cross-cultural communication in care and for international integration. They provide patient care according to the nursing process and based on reliable evidence to ensure safety. They also provide health counseling for individuals, families, and communities, and use information technology and modern equipment in care practice and scientific research.
Scholarship opportunities
Students can apply for scholarships under the general policies of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.
Career opportunities after graduation
Graduates have diverse career options. They can work as teaching staff and researchers at universities, professional colleges, and research institutes. They can find positions in public and private medical facilities. Other opportunities include in-home healthcare organizations, workplace health services (at schools, factories, etc.), and care facilities for the elderly in Vietnam and other countries.
Postgraduate opportunities
After graduating, students in Nursing have the full capacity to continue their studies to a higher professional level. They can participate in short-term training courses in Nursing in Vietnam and abroad, pursue a second bachelor’s degree in a related major, or enroll in postgraduate programs (Master’s, Ph.D.) in Nursing at universities in Vietnam or other countries.
