Office Administration – accredited by FIBAA

Program objectives

The Office Administration program provides students with basic knowledge of social sciences, politics, law, and IT. It teaches them to plan, organize, and manage professional activities in the office administration field and enables them to apply foundational technical knowledge to their work. The program also equips students with necessary skills to solve complex problems; to lead, start businesses, and create jobs. They learn to think critically, evaluate work quality, and communicate solutions in the workplace.

Additionally, the program aims to equip students with skills to work independently or in teams in changing environments, taking personal and group responsibility. They gain the ability to guide others, plan and manage resources, and evaluate and improve activities. They can also self-direct, form professional conclusions, and defend their personal viewpoints.


Program duration

The Bachelor of Office Administration is a 3.5-year program, which includes 7 semesters and 124 credits.


Target applicants

The program admits students from both within and outside the country, following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the specific rules of Tra Vinh University.

Learning outcomes

Regarding knowledge, graduates can apply basic knowledge of political science, law, and national defense to act correctly in their professional life. They can analyze methods of document drafting, clerical work, and archival operations. They can apply professional knowledge to advise leaders. Graduates can evaluate various office operations, including reception, archives, document drafting, office culture, and human resource management. They can propose solutions to improve office efficiency, evaluate work and communication, and effectively apply IT to meet the demands of a modern office.

In terms of skills, graduates have both professional and soft skills.

  • Professional skills: They can handle administrative work in both state agencies and businesses. They can advise leaders on office activities and manage document systems, seals, and archives. They learn to apply IT to office work, aiming for an e-office model. They can proficiently use modern office equipment and apply foreign language skills (level 3/6) in their work.

  • Soft skills: They can solve problems that arise in office work, be creative, and start businesses. They can propose alternative solutions in changing conditions, evaluate work quality and team performance, and systematize their knowledge to handle office tasks from simple to complex.

Students can apply for scholarships under the general policies of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.


Career opportunities after graduation

Graduates can work as office-statistical civil servants; staff at state agencies and public administrative units; office receptionists; clerical and archival specialists; office administrators; office secretaries; director’s secretaries; director’s assistants; human resources officers; and teaching staff at institutes, universities, and centers.


Postgraduate opportunities

Graduates have the opportunity to study for a Master’s in Public Management, a Master’s in Archival Science, and some other Social Science fields.
