Program objectives
The Pharmacy program follows an application-oriented design to meet the needs of employers and relevant parties. The curriculum provides students with knowledge of natural sciences, social sciences, law, information technology, foreign languages, and basic medicine and pharmacy, along with deep professional knowledge and skills in the Pharmacy field. Students can apply this knowledge and skill to professional practice in specialized areas of Pharmacy, including Drug Management and Supply, Clinical Pharmacy, Medicinal Materials and Traditional Pharmacy, and Drug Development and Production.
The program develops skills in critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of data in a scientific and advanced manner. Students also gain skills in communication, independent work, teamwork, and problem-solving to perform well in pharmaceutical organizations. They develop the ability to research and apply scientific achievements, contribute to the pharmacy sector and public healthcare, and actively pursue lifelong learning. Graduates can disseminate knowledge within the Pharmacy field and can self-direct and adapt to changing professional environments. They also learn to guide others, manage, evaluate, and innovate to improve professional effectiveness, all while demonstrating professional ethics and social responsibility.
Admission subject combinations
The program accepts applicants from two subject combinations. Combination A00 includes Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Combination B00 includes Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Program duration
The Bachelor of Pharmacy is a five-year program, which includes 10 semesters and 168 credits.
Target applicants
The university admits students by the formal admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Learning outcomes
Regarding knowledge, graduates can apply basic knowledge of natural sciences, social sciences, political science, national defense, and relevant legal documents to have correct awareness and actions in life, study, and professional work. They can apply knowledge of basic medicine and pharmacy to solve problems related to health and medicine. They can also combine specialized and interdisciplinary knowledge to carry out professional activities in the pharmaceutical field.
In terms of skills, graduates can perform activities in the production, preparation, testing, and quality assurance of drugs, medicinal ingredients (including those from medicinal herbs), cosmetics, and functional foods according to GPs (Good Practices) principles. They can evaluate drug prescriptions and provide consultation and guidance on drug use based on principles of safety, effectiveness, and rationality. They can implement management, supply, and storage activities for drugs and related products. They also learn to carry out scientific research in the pharmaceutical field. Graduates can effectively use basic information technology and a foreign language at level 4 of the 6-level Vietnamese Foreign Language Competency Framework. They can also coordinate skills in critical thinking, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership to perform their professional tasks well.

Students can apply for scholarships under the general policies of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.
Career opportunities after graduation
Graduates can work in various pharmacist positions. Opportunities are available in management agencies, healthcare facilities (such as hospitals, clinics, and community health centers), and facilities for the production or business of drugs, medicinal ingredients, cosmetics, and functional foods. They can also work in drug quality supervision. Graduates can find positions at institutes, schools, and research and training facilities related to medicine and pharmacy. Furthermore, they can establish their own private pharmacies or pharmaceutical businesses, dealing in health-related goods and services according to legal regulations.
Postgraduate opportunities
After graduating, students in Pharmacy have the full capacity to continue their professional development. They can engage in self-study to enhance their knowledge and skills. They can also participate in short-term training courses and continuing education in Pharmacy in Vietnam and abroad, pursue a second bachelor’s degree in a related major, or enroll in postgraduate programs (Master’s, Ph.D.) in Pharmacy at universities in Vietnam or other countries.
