Program objectives
The Primary Education program provides students with basic knowledge of social sciences, politics, law, and IT, and teaches them to plan and manage professional activities in the field. The program fosters respect for pupils’ abilities, a commitment to nurturing their potential, and a dedication to the teaching profession. Graduates can apply knowledge of psychology and pedagogy to their teaching, communicate effectively with colleagues and parents, and manage classroom behavior to develop pupils’ personalities.
They can analyze the primary school curriculum, design competency-oriented lesson plans, and use modern teaching and assessment methods. They learn to understand their pupils’ development, advise parents, and adhere to school and social codes of conduct. The program also emphasizes professional development through lesson study, applied research, and self-training to solve practical problems creatively. The ultimate goal is to train university-level primary school teachers who can meet the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program and contribute to a standardized, modern, and integrated education system.
Program duration
The Bachelor of Primary Education is a 3.5-year program, which includes 7 semesters and 123 credits.
Target applicants
The program admits students from both within and outside the country, following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the specific rules of Tra Vinh University.

Learning outcomes
Regarding knowledge, graduates can apply basic knowledge of social sciences, politics, law, and national defense to act correctly in their professional life. They can use IT to evaluate pupil performance and apply foreign language skills (level 3/6) in teaching. Graduates use their knowledge of Literature, Math, Science, and technology to teach at the primary level. They also apply psychology, pedagogy, and educational management to educate pupils and use pedagogical research to meet the demands of educational innovation.
In terms of skills, graduates can develop the primary school curriculum, create educational plans, and manage school activities. They can provide counseling and support to colleagues and pupils. They learn to design lesson plans and use teaching methods that develop pupils’ qualities and abilities. They can create competency-based assessments, work in teams, and handle pedagogical situations. They can also coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, families, and the community to educate pupils.

Tuition fee exemption according to Decree 116/2020/ND-CP of the Government dated September 25, 2020.

Students can apply for scholarships under the general policies of the Ministry of Education and Training and Tra Vinh University.

Career opportunities after graduation
After graduating, students can work at domestic and international primary schools, centers for inclusive education support and development, and other primary education institutions with special needs. (This does not include teachers of foreign languages, physical education, or other talent-based subjects). They can also take on the role of General In-charge of the Young Pioneers’ Organization at primary schools.
Postgraduate opportunities
While working at primary education institutions, graduates can continue to study Primary Education, Primary Education Management, and other education-related fields at the master’s and doctoral levels.
