Program objectives

The Sport Management program aims to provide students with basic knowledge of social sciences, political science, law, and information technology. It teaches them to plan, organize, supervise, manage, and operate professional activities in the physical education and sports field. The program also enables students to apply foundational technical knowledge of management to their professional work.

The program also equips students with necessary skills to solve complex problems; to lead, start businesses, and create jobs for themselves and others. They learn to think critically, critique, and evaluate the quality of work and team performance, communicate problems and solutions in the workplace, and share knowledge and skills for specific or complex tasks.

Furthermore, the program trains students to work independently or in teams in changing work environments, taking personal and group responsibility. They gain the ability to guide and supervise others, plan and manage resources, and evaluate and improve professional activities. They can also self-direct, form professional conclusions, and defend their personal viewpoints.


Program duration

The Bachelor of Sport Management is a 3.5-year program, which includes 7 semesters and 126 credits.


Target applicants

The program admits students from both within and outside the country, following the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the specific rules of Tra Vinh University.

Learning outcomes

Regarding knowledge, graduates can apply basic knowledge of political, social, and natural sciences to organize professional activities. They can analyze the current situation and changing trends of economic activities related to sport management domestically and internationally. They can combine knowledge of school sports, mass sports, and professional sports to enhance their skills in organizing events. They can also apply foreign language skills (level 3/6) and basic IT skills in communication and professional reporting.

In terms of skills, graduates can provide counseling and development for school sports, mass sports, and high-achievement sports. They can organize sports events, sports economy activities, marketing, and communication at local and educational institutions. They can teach basic sports in the national education system. Graduates can also organize and operate the activities of sports clubs and businesses providing sports services. They demonstrate the ability to work independently, in teams, and to give presentations.

Career opportunities after graduation

Graduates can work at state management agencies for sports, sports centers, schools for the gifted, and cultural centers. They can teach physical education at universities, colleges, and schools. They can also work for businesses and sports organizations in roles such as: sports agent, sponsorship negotiator, sports business director, marketing specialist, gym manager, recreational sports manager, sports tourism manager, event manager, market researcher, professional sports manager, or sports facility manager at a resort. Other job positions are also possible depending on individual capabilities.


Postgraduate opportunities

After graduating, students can continue to study at the postgraduate level (Master’s, Ph.D.) at domestic and foreign training institutions or transfer to other undergraduate programs.
