The project “Smart home based on artificial intelligence” in field of embedded systems of Diep Phuoc Trung in class 12B and Cao Tuan Dat in class 12A was awarded the second prize, and the project “Building medical map supporting people’s health care ” in field of software system of Dinh Nguyen Quoc Qui in class 12C won the fourth prize of the contest.
The National Science and Technology Competition 2019 in the Southern Vietnam took place from March 16th to 19th, 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City attracting 229 projects of 409 students from 34 educational institutions in 20 fields. There were 122 excellent projects awarded including 13 first prizes, 25 second prizes, 35 third prizes and 49 fourth prizes. In which, the Department of Education and Training of Tra Vinh province participated with 6 projects in 6 fields including 02 projects of the Pedagogical Practice School – Tra Vinh University.
At the closing and awarding ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Huu Do, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Department shared that this year, in order to ensure the competition’s objectivity, fairness, and seriousness. the Steering Committee has selected prestigious scientists and teachers in Northern region to be the judges and the examiners for the competition in Southern region and vice versa. Based on contest results, the organization committee will select excellent products to participate in the Intel ISEF competition 2019 in the United State. The Deputy Minister also suggested the schools continue to deploy strongly, support students in participation in scientific research and implement successfully the renovation of general education program.
In this year’s competition, the project “Smart home based on artificial intelligence” in field of embedded systems of Diep Phuoc Trung in class 12B and Cao Tuan Dat in class 12A has won the second prize. The project aims to develop the application and processing capability of artificial intelligence which are built and developed on Amazon Platform (Amazon’s Alexa artificial intelligence platform), from that creating a virtual assistant which is able to handle tasks required by users to be applied in smart home control.
Phuoc Trung said: “Through the contest, I feel very happy and proud of the results that I have achieved. To have such achievement, my family, my teachers and my friends have cheered and supported me a lot. Although I won the second prize, I still need to learn more to surmount the limitations existing in my project. Personally, I will definitely make more efforts to improve this project.”
Phuoc Trung known that, not only interested in scientific research, but also be a good student in literature. He has won many high prizes in start-up competitions of the province.
With the project “Building medical map to support people’s health care ” in field of software system, running on a flatform of smart phone and website, Dinh Nguyen Quoc Qui in class 12C has won the fourth prize. Talking about the project, Quoc Qui graciously shared: “Currently I have already built a medical map in Tra Vinh province and some neighboring provinces. I am developing this project into the Mekong Delta provinces”.
This is the 6th time, Tra Vinh Pedagogical Practice School attended the National Science and Technology Competition. This year, the achievement is higher than the previous ones.
