May 12th, 2021, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Rector of the University welcomes and works with the delegation from the Faculty of Medicine, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
This visit of the delegation aims to discuss cooperative opportunities of the two parties in the field of medical research; specifically, the initial exchange in establishing a stem cell research institute at Tra Vinh University.
According to Assoc. Dr. Pham Xuan Da, representative of the Center for Genetic and Reproductive Health, Faculty of Medicine, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, said: “Currently, stem cells are widely used in the field of medicine. However, this material has not been commercialized. We all desired that Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and Tra Vinh University can cooperate to establish a research institute carrying on in-depth research on stem cells and medical tissues to create a step forward for the construction and operation of tissue and gene bank serving for organ transplantation, tissue supply for medical facilities, medical training, production of drug preparations, biological products by cell technology, immunology and biomedicine advanced”.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Rector of Tra Vinh University expressed his hope that the cooperation project will go smoothly. Tra Vinh University is going to actively cooperate to establish a research institute by the regulations and capabilities of the two parties. This project will be considered as a good opportunity for lecturers and students of Tra Vinh University to research and approach modern medicine, contributing to bringing practical value to the medical profession in the future.
