The final round of the 2022 Student Startup competition in the Mekong Delta

(TVU) – After the preliminary section, 17 startup ideas of students from the Student Startup Supporting Network (3S-Net) in the Mekong Delta region entered the final round.

On November 12, the final round and the awarding of prizes to the winners of the 2022 Student Startup competition in the Mekong Delta took place at Tra Vinh University under the organization of the Student Startup Supporting Network (3S-Net).

Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Student Startup Support Network (3S-Net) in the Mekong Delta, Rector of Tra Vinh University, said that: “In the Mekong Delta, the startup movement among students has been considered and promoted by all levels and organizations. On March 11, the Student Startup Supporting Network was established, and the Board of Directors was elected for the term 2022 – 2024, including 17 members from universities and colleges in the Mekong Delta region.

The Network was established with the aim of promoting the startup spirit, knowledge, and skills of students and alumni; building close relationships between higher education institutions and colleges; developing cooperation and complementing the network members harmoniously to maximize the available resources of each organization to support startups; connecting members to carry out international projects and researches on innovative startups”, emphasized Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa.

To achieve the mentioned goals, the Students Startup Supporting Network in the Mekong Delta region organized the 1st competition of the 2022 Student Startup Idea in the Mekong Delta. It was to help to spread the startup spirit of students in the region.

The competition attracted the participation of 28 ideas and projects. Seventeen projects have passed the preliminary rounds to enter the final round.

At the end of the competition, the project of Blue anchovies by the authors of Kien Giang University excellently won the first prize; The second prize was awarded to the idea of Equipment for monitoring field water level and remote pump control by the author group of Tra Vinh University; The third prize belonged to the project of Dried lotus seeds with salted egg taste of the author group of Dong Thap Community College.

The organizers have awarded two consolation prizes to the projects “Psychological Counseling Support Center” by the authors of Tra Vinh University and “Green Banana” by the authors of Kien Giang University.

The projects of Jam (Sweet potato-lemon) production and trade, Sen Hong restaurant, Wine from Siraitia grosvenorii fruit, and Aquarium and fish care services also got the movement prize. Banana fiber fabric; Katuk-made products; Handicrafts and jewelry from shells; Masks with a tangerine flavor against car sickness; Processing and trading grilled chopped snails stuffed with bamboo leaves; and Vietnamese culinary chess set were those won the prize of potential startup projects.
