The first Vinh Long province high school national defense and security education sports festival 2026

TVU – On February 28, a professional meeting for the First Vinh Long Province High School National Defense and Security Education Sports Festival 2026 takes place at Lecture Hall D5 of Tra Vinh University. The meeting gathers feedback from participating units, clarifies organizational matters, and assigns competition order numbers in preparation for the festival.

Attending the meeting are Mr. Trinh Van Ngoan, Deputy Director of the Vinh Long Provincial Department of Education and Training, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Dien, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Vinh Long Provincial Military Command, Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, along with representatives from about 90 high schools across the province.

At the beginning of the program, the Organizing Committee presents information on registration procedures and reports on the preparation status of participating schools. Statistics show that around 90 units register for the sports festival. As this is the first time the event is organized on a large scale following administrative restructuring, some schools encounter difficulties, particularly in application and registration procedures. The Organizing Committee therefore emphasizes requirements related to documentation, procedures, and submission deadlines to ensure consistency and compliance with regulations.

The committee also reviews key regulations for the competition, including organizational structure, scoring methods, and specific requirements for each event. The events include squad competitions, grenade throwing, gun disassembly and assembly, and armed running. These explanations help participating units clearly understand the regulations, reduce possible issues during the competition, and ensure absolute safety for all participants.

Regarding the armed running event, organizers note that the competition is scheduled in the early afternoon, when temperatures may be high and could affect students’ physical condition. However, the competition area is arranged within the dormitory grounds of Tra Vinh University, where shaded spaces and recovery support measures are available. Participating units are encouraged to carefully prepare their students for the conditions.

During the discussion session, delegates focus on practical matters such as competition attire, first-aid and wound-dressing techniques, equipment requirements, and regulations for contestant substitution. The Organizing Committee receives and addresses the feedback in a professional and objective manner while requesting all units to strictly observe discipline, conduct, and safety before, during, and after the competition. The festival not only promotes competition but also identifies outstanding individuals who may represent the province in national-level National Defense and Security Education competitions.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia expresses pride that Tra Vinh University has been selected as the venue for the provincial event. He affirms that the university will closely coordinate with the organizing units and provide full support in facilities and equipment to ensure the festival takes place safely, seriously, and effectively.

Given the scale and significance of the event, the Organizing Committee calls for active and responsible cooperation from all participating units. The committee also commits to organizing the festival fairly, in accordance with regulations, while ensuring safety and discipline, thereby contributing to improving the quality of national defense and security education in high schools across Vinh Long Province.

The First Vinh Long Province High School National Defense and Security Education Sports Festival 2026 will take place from March 6 to March 10, organized by the Vinh Long Provincial Department of Education and Training in coordination with the Vinh Long Provincial Military Command, Tra Vinh University, and related units, with the participation of approximately 90 high schools in the province.
